Life As a Work of Art

Two insightful articles in today's Washington Post "Health" section:

  • Christine B. Whelan [1] discusses the benefits of mindfulness, "... the awareness that emerges from focusing on the present and the ability to perceive—but not judge—your own emotions with detachment ...".
  • Douglas LaBier [2] suggests that, "The traits you most need today are to be transparent, flexible, focused and collaborative."

LaBier concludes provocatively and poetically:

So think for a moment what your life would look like if it were a work of art. When it's finished, what will the picture look like? What purpose will it reveal for your having been here? Do you want to make any changes?

Right now?
